Alice Gerrard on Elizabeth Cotton

Posted in Uncategorized by busterdilly on October 22, 2009

In this video Alice talks about meeting legendary folk artist Elizabeth Cotton and her wishes to be laid down in a river and carried away, rather than to be buried in the ground.

Gerrard was the subject of a video produced during the 2009 Community Folklife Documentation Institute (CFDI), sponsored by the N.C. Arts Council, the Center for Documentary Studies and the N.C. Folklife Institute.
